So what’s the deal with our new logo you may have wondered? And if you haven’t, I still hope you will read this as it’s actually pretty cool!

For eight years I have owned modbod and we have gone through so many changes! However, one thing that was always missing for me as the owner was what is my motive for having a clothing company? Why do I want to do this? I am not someone that is driven by making money, but more about making an impact and a difference in people’s lives. I am driven by connections and by your stories of how amazing you all are. So how do I do that with a clothing company? How do I connect with you, and connect you with each other? Simple. By reminding us all that we are all connected and that we are not alone in our amazing journeys on this earth.

The spiral in our new logo design is a taken from the Fibonacci sequence.  For those who might not know what this is, it’s math. It’s a mathematic equation and a symbol that you might be familiar with called the Golden Ratio. The mathematics of the sequence is, “a series of numbers in which each number is the sum of the two preceding numbers. The simplest is the series 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, etc.” It’s a simple pattern, but it appears to be a kind of built-in numbering system to the cosmos.Screen Shot 2016-08-31 at 5.36.14 PM

In nature you see the Fibonacci series everywhere. Anything from flower petals, pinecones, tree branches, a sea shell, galaxies, hurricanes, facial patterns, insects, etc. For me, when I read more about this, I wanted it to be a part of our new logo somehow.  Screen Shot 2016-08-31 at 5.22.03 PM

To me, our logo is symbol of the idea that we are all connected. That we are all one living on this planet that is so full of ideas and chaos that sometimes we forget the simplistic form of everything – we are all connected.

My hope with our new branding is that through our community aspects of our website and the outreach that we will be doing that we can connect us to you and you to each other. My hope is that in doing this you all recognize how exquisitely beautiful each of you are, exactly how you are.

With Love,
